Can I add own SAC Presets?

There is no possibility to create new, user-defined SAC Presets at the moment.
The SAC is meant to provide a fast and secure way creating reproducible raw data scans of the same quality and output size, suiting the capabilities of a dedicated scanner model. Thus, the presets should not be changed by the user.

But you can take benefit from the enhanced scanning speed of the SAC and use your own settings in manual mode - and not only for raw data scans. Just set up a new scan frame with the settings you want to use. Then, save this Frame Setting from the Frame menu, set it to be the new default in the SilverFast Preferences -> General tab and use the "regular" batch scan capability of SilverFast Ai Studio 9.

In SilverFast 9.1.0, the "ExpressScan" feature has been implemented for all users of our Archive Suite 9 software and it acts like the SAC does in terms of scanning speed:
as soon as possible, scans in one row are scanned together and then cropped out of a single scan in order to prevent scanning each frame individually. This dramatically improves the scanning speed and additionally it takes work load from the scanner hardware.

The ExpressScan workflow in manual mode would be the following...

  • set up your frame settings
  • save them via the Frames menu
  • set tis Frame Settings to be the new default in the SilverFast 9 Preferences -> General
  • perform a new preview scan and launch Frame Finding. All resulting frames will carry the settings you just defined
  • start the Batch Scan

* the ExpressScan feature is available for flatbed scanners and users that own a suitable SilverFast Ai Studio 9 HDR Studio Studio 9 license.
