Help! SilverFast simply closed, what can I do?

I have been using SilverFast successfully for years until most recently. I opened SilverFast as usual and it simply closed?

Before submitting a support request, we would like to suggest a few easy troubleshooting tips that you can perform on your own. These tips may already solve the issue and save you time waiting for a response from our support team.

  1. Firstly, we recommend that you try restarting your computer and launching the software again. Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve software issues.

    • Switch off the scanner and quit SilverFast (force quit, if necessary).
    • Switch the scanner back on and restart SilverFast.
  2. Secondly resetting SilverFast to factory defaults is helpful to remedy the issue. Please refer to this article with step-by-step instructions.
  3. If you are experiencing a software crash when attempting to hit the start button, we suggest ensuring that your scanner is properly connected and that the latest driver has been installed. It is important to note that the scanner should be switched on and in a ready-to-use state.
