If you want to reinstall SilverFast 9 and get rid of all components from the previous installation, as well as the user preferences, please follow the steps listed in this article.
The procedure is slightly different on macOS and Windows systems, that's why the article does have a macOS and a Windows section.
In a first step, please use the "Uninstall.app" located at:
to start the regular uninstall process of the SilverFast application files. Afterwards, and if still present on your system, please manually delete the directory mentioned above
In a second step, please also delete:
And finally, we need to remove the SilverFast preferences which have been stored during the scan sessions you have had in the past. To do so, you need to delete the folder:
The User Library is a hidden system folder on macOS. You need to make it visible before you will find it in a Finder window. To do so, you can use the keyboard shortcut "CMD+SHIFT+." (command, shift and period).
Or you access the User Library directly by clicking the "Go to" menu in the Finder title menu bar, hold down the "option" key on your keyboard and click the appearing "Library" entry.
Now, we need to empty the trash bin and reboot the Mac. This is because macOS does trace files and folders, even if they have been moved to the trash.
Once your Mac has been rebooted, you can download and install the latest SilverFast 9 software release via:

Please uninstall the SilverFast 9 App via the Windows Control Panel -> "Apps"
Then, if still present on your system after the uninstall, you delete the following folders:
In order to remove the SilverFast preferences that might be left over from previous scan sessions, please also delete the folder:
Now, reboot the PC and reinstall SilverFast 9 via:
