How to Connect a USB Scanner to a USB-C Mac

Many new Mac computers only have USB-C ports, which can make it challenging to connect older USB devices like scanners. Fortunately, there's a simple solution - the Apple USB-C to USB-A Adapter.

Step 1: Obtain the Adapter

Purchase the Apple USB-C to USB-A Adapter from the Apple Store or an authorized reseller. This small adapter allows you to connect standard USB-A devices to your USB-C equipped Mac.

Step 2: Connect the Adapter

Plug the USB-C end of the adapter into an available USB-C port on your Mac. Make sure it clicks into place securely.

Step 3: Connect Your Scanner

Take the USB cable from your scanner and plug it into the USB-A port on the adapter. Your scanner should now be connected to your Mac.

The Apple USB-C to USB-A Adapter is designed for connecting low-power USB devices like scanners, keyboards, and mice. It is not recommended for connecting high-power USB devices such as external hard drives or USB hubs, as it may not provide enough power.

Compatibility:

The Apple USB-C to USB-A Adapter is compatible with all USB scanners and works seamlessly with macOS. There are no known issues with using this adapter to connect USB devices to your Mac.
