With 9.1.6 a new universal driver for the Plustek OpticFilm 8100 and 8200i for macOS was introduced. Using this driver might lead to issues like:

We have prepared a SilverFast 9.1.6 installer with the previous Intel only drivers so that you can continue scanning while we work together with Plustek on this issue. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
If you experience anything similar, please follow these steps:
1. Switch off your scanner.
2. Delete the following folder:
/Library/Application Support/LaserSoft Imaging/SilverFast 9/Drivers/Plustek
3. Empty the bin.
4. Reboot your Mac.
5. Download and install SilverFast 9.1.6 from here:
