Scanner not available

Scanner not available

Can't start the scanner? SilverFast does not display a scanner in the welcome window and shows you "no scanner available"?

Welcome Screen, no scanner detected.

To start SilverFast, the scanner must be recognized in the welcome window. If it is not, please make sure that the scanner is still correctly plugged in and switched on first.
If the scanner is still not available, you probably haven't installed the the manufacturer's driver yet which are necessary for the scanner to be recognized or you have a scanner that SilverFast doesn't support.

You can download the necessary driver from the respective manufacturer's website.

The following manufacturers require a separate driver installation:

Windows: Canon, Epson, Plustek (Plustek OF 7600i and older only)
macOS: Canon (macOS 10.13 drivers), Epson (if the scanner is not automatically recognized)

Canon: no up to date drivers available. You need to download the TWAIN drivers for older OS like macOS 10.13 High Sierra.

You'll find the drivers in the support section of their websites.
