Why is my SilverFast 8 (legacy) serial number flagged as invalid?
First, please double check for any possible typos when you entered your serial and also please check if you have confused any characters.
For example the 30-digit SilverFast 8 serial number actually doesn't include an O or a 0 (zero), because it's too easy to confuse these two characters.
However, due to the print of the serial label it may be possible for some characters not being clearly visible. For example a Q therefore comes to look as an O.
Secondly, you may have exchanged the SilverFast serial number that came with your scanner for a SilverFast serial number that doesn't need a SilverFast CD or DVD for validation, but instead relies on a given first name, last name combination.
