SilverFast crashes when launching a preview
Problem: SilverFast crashes when launching a preview. It is possible to scan without previewing.
If you encounter such a problem, it's probably the fault of a corrupted screen profile. SilverFast uses the screen profile for color management. A problem on the screen profile level can cause such a crash. This type of problem is often linked to a calibrated screen.
If you have calibrated your screen yourself, try re-calibrating your screen to create a new ICC profile for your display. If you're using the standard profile, you may be able to download a valid profile from your screen manufacturer's website.
The same phenomenon applies to versions of SilverFast used on macOS 13 that are too recent for SilverFast 8. In the latter case, upgrading to SilverFast would be the best solution. If this is not possible, the CMS should be deactivated in the SilverFast preferences.
